Critical Immediate Actions
Consider these actions depending upon your event.
- Refer to your Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan: Follow the steps that you have planned and use contact information already gathered when you made your plan.
- Financial Institutions: If the incident involves fraudulent fund transfers, contact your bank now. They may be able to freeze or retrieve the funds if notified quickly.
- Cyber Insurance: Contact your carrier immediately. Your coverage may provide access to a professional incident response team and legal counsel.
- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI): Report the incident to the FBI. They may be able to identify known threat actors, provide insights into specific tactics, and assist with ongoing investigations to help in your recovery.
