About MISecure

The MISecure team is a task force setup by the Michigan Education Technology Leaders (METL) which is a workgroup of MAISA. Our initial charge in the fall of 2018 was to develop a guide to help Michigan K12 school districts identify and improve their cybersecurity practices. We created the Essential Cybersecurity Practices for K12 and distributed nearly 2,000 copies to every K12 superintendent, business manager and technology director in the State by the fall of 2019. We continue to network with other cybersecurity organizations in the State, present at State conferences and to develop additional materials. Our mission is to improve Michigan K12 cybersecurity by developing and advocating for best practices and resources.
